Jesus tells a parable about a vineyard owner who sends messengers and the workers of the field kept beating them. Mark 12 1-12. So he sends the son and they kill him. I know it's a parable of a deeper meaning about the Jews and the Gentiles, but I see a daily application as well. God wanted mankind to know His love. To walk with Him....God is Agape, but because of our human judgmental hearts that are corrupted by the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, we 'kill' the messengers that speak of His Agape. Oh sure WE love knowing He is Agape to us-ward..but when we see His Agape being given to people *WE* deem as 'unworthy' our pride puffs up and there is gnashing of teeth. Just as the Jews did when Jesus walked away from them and embraced the sinners.
He uses vessels to reach others through Agape..but to see His Agape flow freely through us, we need to stop eating from that tree. Our righteousness is filthy rags..like the rags the lepers use to wipe the puss and blood from their rotting skin. Eat from that tree and that's all we'll ever be...lepers. Stop eating from that tree and eat from the Tree of Life..it's about His righteousness in us. He heals us and then we have no need to use rags any more. The leprosy is cleansed by Christ. We then walk in His righteousness and He can use us as vessels to reach others.
